"The aspirant for Moksha (
liberation ), who has firmly grasped the principles of Karma, can truly control
his self and acquire, in the words of the Upanishad, the competence of being
the ' master of his self '.
Definition Of Karma
Continuous activities of the mind,
the sense-organs, the organs of action and the vital forces of the body, e.g.
cognition, volition, maintenance of body etc., which bring about their
mutations are called Karma.
According as it gives us pleasure or
pain, Karma is divided into four kinds :
( a ) white
( b ) black
( c ) white-and-black and
( d ) neither white nor black.
Karma that begets
happiness is white;
- that which produces pain is black;
- that which gives us both happiness
and misery is white-and-black,
- and that which leads to neither happiness nor sorrow
is neither white nor black".
